With the Six Partitas BWV 825–830, Johann Sebastian Bach presented the most stylistically innovative and technically ambitious suite collection of his time. This Urtext edition, edited by leading Bach scholar Christoph Wolff, unites the previously separate volumes (EP4463a and EP4463b) in a single publication – the editor's only complete Urtext edition of the Partitas. It includes variants of several dance movements and a comprehensive foreword discussing the genesis of the works, source commentaries, performance practice guidance, and a table of ornaments. This edition combines musicological research with practical usability, providing a reliable foundation for an authentic interpretation of the pieces.
