This Sonata Piano e Forte Score & Parts edition presents Gabrieli’s well-known sonata in an arrangement performed and recorded by many brass ensembles.
The arrangement uses the idea of Renaissance consorts. The first choir uses cylindrical instruments, with 4 trumpets, while the second uses conical instruments, with 4 flugelhorns.
This setup is designed to produce a well-balanced, blended sound within each choir while letting listeners follow the contrasting timbres between the two groups.
Ideal for brass ensemble performance and study, this score and parts set keeps the original consort-inspired concept at the center of the arrangement.
