Sonatina is a three-movement work for horn and piano, composed for Derek Conrod, a horn player in Southwestern Ontario. The piece explores the range and colours of the horn.
Lyrical writing is contrasted with sharp fanfare figures, creating interest and variety throughout. Its technical requirements make it an exciting challenge for the professional performer.
