Sonic Barrier's Acousta-Blue vs. Other Speaker Cabinet Damping Material
Firstly, Acousta-Blue's ability to isolate and trap sound waves sets it apart. By preventing unwanted standing wave frequencies inside speaker cabinets, it significantly improves the quality of sound output. This means you can enjoy clearer and more accurate audio reproduction.
Additionally, Acousta-Blue boasts a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) rating that is 30% better than fiberglass in thicknesses less than 3". This means it provides superior sound absorption, effectively reducing echoes within the speaker cabinet. The graph below shows the NRC for Acousta-Blue 30 mm (1.18") vs 50 mm (1.97").
Moreover, working with Acousta-Blue is hassle-free. Unlike fiberglass, it has no irritating carcinogenic filaments, making it safer and more comfortable to handle without using gloves, mask, and safety glasses. Its easy-to-work-with nature ensures a smooth installation process, saving you time and effort.
Lastly, the 30 mm (1.18") thickness of Acousta-Blue is perfectly suited for small to medium size bass reflex speaker cabinets. This size provides optimal sound control and helps achieve the desired sound performance.
Environmentally Friendly Acousta-Blue stands apart from other damping materials due to its exceptional features and eco-friendly nature. One key factor is its use of recycled denim, making it a sustainable choice that prevents denim from ending up in landfills. Not only does this contribute to environmental preservation, but the recycling process also enhances the material's resistance to flames, rodents, insects, fungi, and mildew. Unlike other traditional damping materials like foam which has similar NRC, Acousta-Blue does not dry out over time, ensuring long-lasting and consistent results. By choosing Acousta-Blue, you not only benefit from better damping and durability but also create a healthier indoor environment.
