The Tahya Ceremonial Systrum is a handcrafted percussion instrument designed for expressive music making and ceremonial use.
It stands 16-inches high and is made from red cedar with nickel silver jingles strung on rods deliberately snake-shaped in keeping with its historical aspects.
Inspired by percussion instruments used in Ancient Egyptian culture, it can add a distinctive texture to chanting, dancing and/or drumming experiences. It is applicable to professional, collegiate and community percussion ensembles and can also be displayed as an objet d'art in a home, classroom, studio, or workplace.
