The Tang Band W1-2025Sa is a 1" neodymium full-range driver with a diminutive 40 mm diameter (just over 1-1/2"). Its patented design features a unique aluminum cone with flower petal embossments, mated to a neodymium motor for maximum BL product in the voice coil gap. The description also specifies a mineral-filled polypropylene cone and a Santoprene surround for use in harsh environments.
A 200 Hz free-air resonance allows pairing with nearly any woofer or subwoofer up to 5-1/2 feet away without localization and beaming effects (poor off-axis response). Low Qts and ultra-low inductance support relatively flat frequency response up to 20,000 Hz. Ferrofluid cools and protects the voice coil, and the press-fit frame minimizes center-to-center distance.
Use these drivers in multiples for a line-array speaker with a miniscule footprint, or for micro LCR (left, center, right) speakers for modern flat panel HDTVs, computer desk speakers, and laptop speakers. Higher power handling can be achieved with a 150 Hz 2nd-order high-pass filter or by using multiple drivers together.
