This 6-inch, 8-ohm midwoofer has a newly developed cone made from interwoven Kevlar and carbon fibers. Its low mass, rigidity, and internal damping support accurate, detailed midrange reproduction. The Balanced Drive motor delivers symmetrical magnetic force to reduce even-order harmonic distortion. A vented, inverted center dome lowers compression during high-output operation; a copper-capped center pole reduces voice coil inductance and helps stabilize behavior across excursion for a smoother, more linear response.
A rigid, extensively vented die-cast aluminum chassis controls airflow velocity to limit turbulence-related distortion. The 1.25-inch voice coil is wound on a black fiberglass former to reduce mechanical losses and improve dynamic performance. An integrated aluminum field-stabilizing ring supports low distortion at high SPL, while the high-Qm suspension system is designed for refined detail and transient response. Black-coated motor parts aid heat dissipation. A Conex spider supports mechanical durability under demanding conditions, and gold-plated terminals provide a corrosion-resistant electrical connection.
