The WindTech Mic-Muff MM-6 is a fitted faux-fur microphone windshield designed to reduce ambient wind noise with consumer and professional microphones. Its 3/4″ fur helps diffuse wind, while the acoustically transparent design produces no negative effect on frequency response.
The cylindrical windshield measures 30 x 33 x 49mm (front x rear x length). It slips over an existing windscreen and stays in place with a touch-fastener closure. It can typically fit over a microphone’s or video camera’s foam windscreen; some models may require placement over the microphone alone. On average, it provides up to 20db of wind-noise reduction in a 20 mph wind.
This model is designed to work with JVC GY-DV300 microphones and also fits the Panasonic Lumix DMW-MS1 stereo microphone. WindTech SG and BG Series foam windscreens are available to work with Mic-Muff windshields as additional-performance or replacement options.
